Laser Engraving
Laser engraving is very similar to laser etching and both are often referred to as being one in the same. However, the most notable difference between laser etching and laser engraving, is the depth to which the mark is being made. With laser engraving, the depth of the mark can sometime range between .005” - .010” and is very noticeable to the touch.
Laser engraving is commonly used to permanently mark the surfaces of various metals with serial numbers, part numbers or other identifying marks. Laser engraving can be used on items that are subjected to a fair amount of use and/or wear, in which the mark would need to remain as visible as possible during it’s lifetime.
Since Blue Chip Manufacturing caters primarily to industrial and manufacturing industries, we offer several options when it comes to laser engraving… most notably, the depth at which we can laser engrave items and our ability to accommodate larger items for laser engraving. Our deep laser engraving service can achieve laser engraving depths greater than .010” and have become a preferred option for clients wanting to paint fill their markings on items such as hand tools, scales, rulers, etc.
